My next reading is Siddhartha, i still haven't bought the book but i will do it this weekend. I enjoyed reading the Alchemist and i will definably recommend it and possibly read is again.

The Story of Oedipus
I am enjoying the reading of Oedipus. It is a great story that is interesting and makes you want to know more. I enjoyed watching the clip of the play today in class because i can feel it more. It is different to read it than to watch it because sometimes when I am reading I don't understand it but if I see the face expressions and listen to it it is easier to understand it and analyze it. It is also helpful to read it out loud in class with people reading each characters lines. I am looking forward to see what will happen next.

I agree with what you say about seeing it vs. reading it. I think they are both different experiences and it's great if you can have both. I like to first read the book and watch the movie and see how my perception of it is different from the actual movie. It's also really helpful when people read it out loud because you can understand certain lines better.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your post as well about how the story is cool and interesting. I didn't even think about the movie vs. the story, but it is interesting to see it on paper and then on the big screen. I personally like it on paper better because of my imagination, but it is helpful to see it on TV when it comes to understanding some of the more abstract lines.
